Russian parliamentary committee approves bill on no-visa regime for transit passengers

The constitutional committee of the lower chamber of the Russian parliament has passed the bill on 72-hour no-visa regime for transit passengers in Russia travelling by air. The committee recommended the parliament to pass amendments to the law on arrival to Russia and departure, RIA Novosti reports.

The Russian government will set the list of states affected by the legislative initiative. The bill will boost tourism and employment.

The bill will come into force on July 1, 2014, if it gains enough votes.
