EU to renew membership talks with Turkey

28 EU states have attended the Committee of Permanent Representatives (COREPER) in Luxembourg to renew talks on Turkey’s membership in the European Union, ITAR-TASS reports.The talks precede the session of foreign ministers of the Council of Europe. Turkey has been striving for membership in the EU for 8 years. The process was halted in June 2013, as a response to crackdowns during intense protests in Ankara.
