Experts discuss Russian industrial stagnation
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaValery Mironov, Deputy Director of the Development Center Institute of the NRU of the HSE, Vladimir Salnikov, Deputy Director of the Center for Macroeconomic Analysis and Short-Term Forecasts, Dmitry Abzalovm, Vice President of the Center for Strategic Communications, and Sergey Valentey, scientific chief of the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, have discussed industrial stagnation of Russia.
Mironov believes that Russia is in need of urgent diversification of industry and skilled specialists, labour efficiency and mobolity of working force, governmental and business support, reduction of expenses and fixed tariffs.
Salnikov noted that the economy had been stagnated for about a year due to oil prices and disappearing factors for prices of other products. The expert does not share optimism of some people expecting investments in the near future. He said that the global market remained uncertain. Salnikov added that Russia had good potential for economic growth, low consumer standards.
Abzalov emphasized on the need for support of small and medium-scale business, access to infrastructure, simplification of taxing, business incubators, industrial parks.
Valentey said that the regional authorities should encourage investments, give them more authority to speed the process up.
