Geneva-2 Conference possible only with attendance of Syrian rebels

Lakhdar Brahimi, special envoy of the UN and Arab League, said in Damascus that the Geneva-2 Conference will not succeed without the participation of the Syrian opposition, RIA Novosti reports.The rebels refused to take part in the upcoming talks, although their final decision will be made at the headquarters of Syrian opposition in Istanbul on November 9.Brahimi has met Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, opposition in Syria and has visited Jordan, Iraq, Egypt, Kuwait, Oman and Turkey.The Geneva Conference was initiated by the US and Russia.
