Child-selling head of Vladikavkaz maternity center released on probation

Svetlana Yesaulova, head of Maternity Center N1 in Vladikavkaz, was sentenced to 5 years in prison for selling a child in August 2010, but has been released on probation, RIA Novosti reports.The child was ditched at the center by its mother, a resident of Stavropol Territory. Yesaulova forged a document and gave the child away. According to the Russian Criminal Code, such crimes may be punished with up to 15 years imprisonment.
