The Internal Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev thinks that it is wrong to fight against illegal migrants by establishing ethnic enclaves, the so-called Chinatowns. According to the minister, the world practice confirms that in the countries where such enclaves exist experience uncontrolled aggression bursts by migrants toward local residents and vice versa. This year the peak of discussions of internal and foreign migration problems was reached on the Day of National Unity. It appears these two topics are closely connected to each other.
Sultan Khamzaev, expert in the field of inter-ethnic relations, stated that “a lot of people link the Day of National Unity with the "Russian March", it is associated with certain actions and nationalist parades. I was talking with a colleague, a member of the Public Chamber, and he said to me a very high quality and wise phrase: "The last "Russian March" took place in 1945". I entirely support him in this respect. Those activities that have occurred in Moscow, in Lublino, for example, or in some other cities, I think in many ways the actions that were held, they are unconstitutional, they are not in defense or in favor of the Russian people for sure. Why should the main position be not even nationalism but radical fascism? Perhaps it is a matter of individual law enforcement officers who have to deal with this issue. A positive ethnic group of people trying to build their correct position were qualitatively turned to the wrong plane.”
Khamzayev believes that “such events are basically absolutely correct and are, perhaps, even the fundamental question of the protection of the Russian ethnos. But in the end we have what we have. Today, in our Russian society, the issues of inter-ethnic and inter-religious sense are a kind of foundation stone at the base of the Russian Federation. And of course , these issues must be approached very specially. Yes, we now have the problem of migration in a general sense. And when the government fails in some places of these positions, it is intercepted by such "professionals". We need to focus on the holiday and give it a proper content. We need to learn to work with people, especially with young people. I will explain to you why. Yesterday there was a very unfortunate incident when an Ingush girl riding the subway after the event, which was held in Lublino; a handful of young "men" beat her, and now she is in hospital. There are situations when young guys of radical mood carry out a kind of execution, and it is all filmed on the phone and then spread on the internet. There are lots of these records, the police will deal with this issue today.”
Salman Nurbiev, the head of the Coordination Council of the Ingush community in Moscow and the Moscow region, suggests recalling the Soviet experience of living together: “So that the national culture, national identity, respect, etc. remains unforgotten and is passed on to other generations, the Constitution provides that all Russian citizens living on the territory of the Russian Federation have equal rights and that the friendship of peoples, nationalities, etc. and mutual respect should be the foundation of everything. No matter how we curse, no matter how we criticize the Soviet Union, the constitution was respected there, mostly respected. We all know the November holiday. People looked forward to it, because all the citizens celebrated it together, there was one ideology, relations, mutual support, mutual understanding. And nowadays all of it is gone.
If we see that the authorities which have adopted this constitution, parties, movements, are against this constitution, what else is there to talk about?
What marches (Russian, Chechen, Ingush, Tatar, etc.) can there be in a society in which people live according to the same constitution?
I am deeply convinced that it is not coming from the Russian people, but from those who want to destabilize Russian society. And they are allowed to do it all. As long as we do not understand all this, we won't have the desired order.”
