Iranian lawmaker Alaeddin Boroujerdi says the Parliament of the Islamic Republic supports the promotion of friendly relations with European countries, Press TV reports on Wednesday.

“Majlis backs the policies of the new Iranian administration to expand friendly ties between Iran and European countries based on mutual respect and in line with the interests of both sides,” the chairman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Iranian Parliament is quoted as saying.

The Iranian lawmaker made the remarks in a meeting with Norwegian Ambassador to Iran Jens Petter Kjemprud, who underlined his country favors closer economic and trade cooperation with Iran.
