Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe Islamization of Turkish society seems unlikely, Associate Professor at the Ankara University of Economics and Technology, Togrul Ismail, told Vestnik Kavkaza in an interview.
The expert believes the recent regulation, according to which, Turkish women will be allowed to wear headscarves in educational institutions and parliament, may be considered part of the democratization of the country.
The new regulations also allow female lawmakers to wear trousers, he underlines.
According to the expert, Turkish society is very heterogeneous and even if the ruling party is trying to impose some Islamic regulations, society in general is far from being Islamised.
