Dmitry Medvedev considers the question of unemployment crucial for the Caucasus
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaDmitry Medvedev met with the head of Ingushetia and called on him to put more effort into fighting unemployment. The president noted that this question is crucial for the whole Northern Caucasus. Yunus-Bek Yevkurov replied that the administration of the republic had found workplaces for 40% of students this year and more than 50% last year.
Opening the meeting, the president noted that measures to fight unemployment are being taken all over the country, but for Ingushetia the problem is critical, especially for the young.
Yevkurov replied tha the level of unemployment has risen due to the crisis. This year 700 employees had to be fired, because some companies were bankrupt. But a special commission is now working, which was formed to stabilize the situation.
Besides that, another program is set to search for employment opportunities in other regions. Young people work there, gain experience and then return.
Yvkurov also noted that the security situation has stabilized. About 30 young men were saved from criminal networks and now can start a new life.
The same day the president met with Ramzan Kadyrov and discussed difficult issues concerning agriculture. Problems of equipment and improvements have not yet been solved. In Kadyrov's opinion, the 600 million rubles invested are not enough and further investments will allow not only the problems of agriculture and improvement to be resolved, but additional jobs to be created.
The president answered that these problems can be solved only one at a time, not all at once.
