Abkhaz legislator loses immunity

Abkhaz legislator Nodik Kvitsiniyu has been stripped of his immunity from prosecution at a parliamentary session. He is suspected of killing Russian businessman Sergey Klemantovich and his friend Oksana Skarednoya, RIA Novosti reports.Two votes were needed to deprive him of immunity on November 7.Klemantovich and Skarednova went missing in Sukhumi on September 10, 2012. Their bodies were found at an abandoned well in Akhaldaba (Ochamchir District) on October 12, 2013.Prosecution of a member of the Abkhaz parliament requires approval of the Supreme Court and the parliament. The Supreme Court approved the prosecution in late October.
