Monument to Kazakh national currency opens

A monument to the national currency of Kazakhstan was unveiled at the office of the National Bank in Taraza, the administrative center of the Zhambyl District, where the first printed tenge had been released, Gazeta.ru reports.A coin with a diameter of 120cm weighing 500kg was set on a pedestal. The head side of the coin has a T-sign inscribed, the other side has President Nursultan Nazarbayev’s order to adopt the currency signed on November 15, 1993.
