Iran threatens to quit talks with mediators

Mohammad Hassan Asafari, a member of the Iranian parliamentary committee for national security and foreign policy, said that Tehran will quit talks with the six mediators (Russia, the US, France, the UK, China and Germany) if the US Congress passes additional sanctions, News Azerbaijan reports.

Last week, a group of congressmen expressed distrust towards agreements between Iran and the six mediators and called for new sanctions. US Secretary of State John Kerry and Barack Obama are opposed to anti-Iranian sanctions.

Iran and the six mediators will meet in Geneva on November 20-21.
