The relevant official statement was sent to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Defense and Security Irakli Sesiashvili said.
"A few days ago I sent a statement to NATO that we want to hold a meeting of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in 2017 in Georgia, which will be very good for our country, because such activities are almost not carried out in the countries that are not members of the alliance, this is a very rare case. In most countries, this has happened before their accession to the alliance”, Sesiashvili said, according to Georgia Online.
However, Sesiashvili noted that there is a decision to hold within the framework of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly two high-level meetings annually in Georgia .
