Russian and Armenian foreign ministers discuss Putin’s visit

Armenian and Russian Foreign Ministers Edward Nalbandian and Sergey Lavrov discussed Russian President Vladimir Putin’s upcoming visit to Armenia yesterday, Tert.am reports.

The sides discussed integration processes of Eurasia, preparations of Armenia to join the Customs Union, new bilateral agreements they plan to sign, cooperation with international organizations (UN, OSCE, CIS, CE, BSEC), military cooperation and security enforcement in the South Caucasus, settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, expansion of economic ties and solutions to regional problems.

Both sides expressed satisfaction with the productive cooperation and agreed to develop and sign programs for consultations of the Armenian and Russian Foreign Ministries in 2014-2015.

The ministers noted the importance of the Vilnius meeting of Armenian and Azerbaijani presidents.

Nalbandian said that working groups of both Foreign Ministries had regular meetings. He added that the recent meeting was a good opportunity to discuss the agreements reached on September 3.
