Dagestani parties agree on ‘fair elections’

Representatives of the seven Dagestani parties have signed a ‘fair elections’ declaration. According to ‘United Russia’, the parties agreed to follow and respect the rights of citizens and their opponents, Yuga.ru reports.


The head of the committee of the People’s Assembly of Dagestan and head of the regional group for preventing electoral violations, Abdulmuslim Kurbanaliyev, said that they will do their best to make the elections as transparent as possible.


On October 10th 2010, Dagestan will hold elections for 9 heads of municipalities, including the elections in the capital, Makhachkala. There will be elections for 53 deputies of cities and regions, 463 heads of village municipalities and 583 deputies at village level.
