Iran purchases state-of-the-art pipe laying vessel

The Iranian engineering company constructing naval facilities in the Persian Gulf will receive the state-of-the-art pipelaying vessel ‘Gadir-5000’, Iran.ru reports, citing IRIB news.


The head of the company, Ali Takheri Motlyak, said that the vessel has a displacement tonnage of 5,000 tons and is being constructed by China.


Motyak said that the vessel is capable of laying 4-4.5 km of pipes daily.


The Iranian engineering company is increasing its fleet due to the new contracts. It is working on the 12th, 15th and 18th phases of ‘South Pars’ project. The company will also work on 14th, 19th, 20th and 21st sections. It will lay over 1,500 km of pipes.


Motlyak said that the company has two pipelaying vessels: the ‘Abuzar-1200’ and Sea Master.
