Azerbaijani railroads prepare to celebrate anniversary

The ‘Azerbaijani Railroads’ company is preparing to celebrate its 130th anniversary and hold a business-forum ‘Strategic partnership 1520’, Trend reports, citing a message of the company.
Both events will be held in Baku on 12-13 October.

The construction of the 20 km railroad started according to a project of the Committee of Ministers, participated in by the Russian Emperor Alexander II, in order to develop the oil industry. Construction of the railroad was supervised by the ‘Poti-Tbilisi' railway society. The railroad was launched on January 20th 1880.
