The preliminary agreement signed by Iran and the 5+1 group on Sunday is believed by many to be a victory for the western world because, according to the deal, Iran is required to limit its nuclear progrramme, while the sanctions aren't lifted. Vestnik Kavkaza discussed the situation with the head of the Modern Iranian Research Centre, Rajab Safarov.

According to Safarov, the Iranian nuclear deal marks the beginning of a new era. There is now no chance that the problem may be resolved with the help of force, the expert says.

Safarov believes that the agreement is beneficial for all parties - the EU, Iran, Russia and the US. The deal is favourable to the European Union because the sanctions were an obstacle for many European companies, to Iran because the country can now be certain that there will be no western strike, to Russia because its suggestion was accepted and the US because now it doesn't have to launch a military operation against Iran, Safarov explains.
