St. George Brotherhood

In late November Ossetians of the whole world mark the St. George holiday, or ‘Uastyrdzhi’ in Ossetian. For 10 years one of the most prominent sons of the Ossetian nation, Alexander Dzasokhov, gathers his friends to continue the wonderful customs of his ancestors. A traditional place for meeting is the legendary Central House of Actors. Guests of the event were Yevgeny Primakov, member of the RAS presidium, Metropolitan of Chelyabinsk and Zlatoustinsk Feofan, Iosif Kobzon, member of parliament and People’s Artist of the USSR, Sergey Lebedev, Executive Secretary of the Commonwealth of Independent States, Mikhail Bogdanov, deputy foreign minister of Russia, Zurab Tsereteli, president of the Russian Artistic Academy, Leonid Roshal, World Children's Doctor, Ilyas Umakhanov, deputy chairman of the Federation Council, representatives of the Azerbaijani and Armenian diasporas of Moscow and heads of Russian state structures and social organizations.
