Special officials to be responsible for inter-ethnic peace in Moscow

According to a new federal law, local authorities are responsible for maintaining inter-ethnic peace and promoting tolerance in Russia. Special administrative bodies will be established in Moscow in order to perform these functions.

Sources say a special official responsible for inter-ethnic relations will be appointed in each district of the city.

Member of Moscow City Hall's Council for Inter-Ethnic Relations Kantemir Khurtayev believes the move will be effective.
