Chechen-Ingush border to be finalized after Sochi Olympics

Dukuvakha Abdurakhmanov, Speaker of the Chechen Parliament, Head of the commission for administrative delimitation of the Ingush-Chechen border, told Vestnik Kavkaza that the final decision on the border will be made after the Olympic Games of Sochi.

He emphasized that Ingushetia and Chechnya were brotherly republics with common roots among the Vaynakh people. Abdurakhmanov noted that Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov had been protecting interests of Chechnya tactfully and respectfully, though persistently and obstinately.

The speaker reminded that 81 out of 83 Russian regions had clear administrative borders and that Chechnya and Ingushetia were the only ones to have such disputes. He believes that it is up to the federal center to find a solution for the situation.
