Chechen leader explains symbolism of women monument
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaChechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov has explained the symbolism of the monument built to honour the 46 women taken hostage at Dadi-Yurt.
Kadyrov said that criminals of war are common for any sides of conflict. There were such criminals in the Caucasus. There were Russian soldiers protecting the Fatherland and there were ones spilling the blood of women and children, Kadyrov explains.
Alexey Zhuravlyov of the United Russia Party asked Kadyrov for an explanation of the monument, calling it a ground for extremist and separatist tendencies. A conflict with another MP Adam Delimkhanov happened on Tuesday over the issue.
Kadyrov noted that Zhuravlyov had attempted ‘a noisy campaign’ around reconstruction of the memorial to girls dying a tragic death during the Caucasus War. Kadyrov reminded that Zhuravlyov had apologized in the end.
