Azerbaijani team is the winner of Mikhail Voronin contest

The international artistic gymnastics contest n.a. Mikhail Voronin is finished in Moscow on December 4th. As the result of the contest, girls representing Azerbaijan propelled the Country of Flames to the top, according to the number of medals. One gold, four silver, and three bronze medals were gained by Azerbaijan. Anna Pavlova took the first place in the vault, the second place in bar exercises and the third place in floor exercises. Marina Nekrasova took the second place in beam exercises. On the first day Anna Pavlova was second in individual all-round events; the third place was taken by Marina Nekrasova, due to this, Azerbaijan won silver medals in team events.

We recall that the competitions were a double debut: Azerbaijan presented its female artistic gymnastics team in competitions and girls represented Azerbaijan for the first time. And they succeeded, making it clear that other countries got a serious rival. And this is only the beginning, as Azerbaijan started the development of the Olympic kind of sport not long ago. In 2015 Baku will host the European Games, and the Country of Flames should be well presented in all kinds of gymnastics.
