Fifth Batumi International Art-House Film Festival

The Fifth Batumi International Art-House Film Festival (BIAFF) will take place from the 12th to the 19th of September, the festival’s director Georgy Gogiberalidze told Georgia News. Films from 23 countries of the world will be screened at the festival. Georgian films will participate in the competition program of young directors. The movie by Georgian director Dmitry Mamulia, filmed in Russia, will represent Russia. Famous Iranian director Abbas Kiarostami will be the festival’s honoured guest. Films of his, including his latest “Certified Copy”, screened in Cannes, will be shown. He will also hold workshops. Zbigniew Rybczynski will be the jury chairman. Besides the main competition program there will also be a retrospective, jury members’ films and new Georgian cinema programs.
