"Marat Rakhmetov has the right to be remembered"
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaThe Alexander Solzhenitsyn Abroad House (Moscow) has hosted an awards ceremony of the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation "Hurry Up To Do Good", traditionally held on the Day of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which is celebrated today. Russian Ombudsman Vladimir Lukin has posthumously presented the award to a resident of Dagestan, Marat Rakhmetov, who this summer saved two drowning girls in the Moscow region.
The award was given to the parents of Marat Rakhmetov.
Vladimir Lukin said that by saving the girls, Marat Rakhmetov "made our life brighter and more noble. He has the right to be remembered."
