Putin: Russia will not leave Ukrainian brothers in trouble

Russian President Vladimir Putin said at his live Q&A conference that Ukraine was in a complicated economic, social and political situation. He noted that Russia should act like a brother of Ukraine and help it.

Putin reminded that Ukraine was  trading equally with Russia and Europe. Ukraine was selling more machinery to Russia and more food to the EU. He explained that the decision to protect Ukrainian economy was made for the interest of its people.

The Russian leader added that Ukraine needed hundreds of billions of dollars for modernization, not just the $15 billion Russia granted it. He reminded that the NWF granted funds at an interest rate of 5% at the Irish Exchange. Putin said that it had nothing to do with pro-EU protests in Kiev or European talks.
