Iran and Qatar to develop South Pars together
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaQatar plans to help Iran develop the South Pars Field (about 51 trillion cubic meters of gas and 50 billion barrels of gas condensate), Iran.ru reports.
The Iranian part of the field is called South Pars, the Qatari part is called the North Dome. Qatar extracts all its gas there and gains 60% of export income from selling it. Qatar has become the largest export of liquefied gas by building facilities worth billions of dollars.
Qatar Petroleum said that the document Iran and the West signed for the nuclear program will stimulate development of the gas field. Qatar will help train Iranian specialists and implement new technologies.
