Dmitry Medvedev thanks Turkish President for wildfire extinguishing

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev discussed today the situation in the South Caucasus with his Turkish counterpart, Abdullah Gül, in a phone conversation, ITAR-TASS reports.


The press-service of Kremlin declared that the two presidents discussed the result of Medvedev’s official visit in May and the situation in the South Caucasian region in general.


Russian president expressed his deep gratitude to the Turkish government and people for the help they offered in fighting disasterous wildefires in Russia. He also said that Russia is ready to assist Turkey in similar situation in the West of the country.
