German Foreign Ministry calls on Iran to abandon uranium enrichment

Berlin has urged Tehran to abandon plans for uranium enrichment on Iranian territory, due to the physical launch of the Bushehr nuclear power plant, constructed by Russian specialists, ITAR-TASS reports. Iran doesn't need to develop its own uranium enrichment process to use the nuclear energy for peaceful purposes if the nuclear fuel is supplied from Russia, claimed the German Ministry representative Andres Peschke. Iran can use nuclear energy, but only in terms of its international obligations, he added.
