Putin is person of year on international arena

British newspaper the Times has named Russian President Vladimir Putin person of the year on the international arena.

The newspaper notes successes of Russian President in foreign policy, in particular, an agreement with the United States on avoiding the military operation in Syria and providing a large loan to Ukraine.

In late October, Putin was named the most influential person in the world by the Forbes magazine. The Russian president, according to the magazine, played a key role in resolving the Syrian crisis. In 2007 the American magazine Time called Putin the person of the year.
