Azerbaijan hosts Fly to Baku Exhibition

The Fly to Baku Exhibition has recently opened in the capital of Azerbaijan. Olga Sviblova, Director of the Multimedia Art Museum, told Vestnik Kavkaza that the exhibition was peculiar for its slow pace. She reminded about the shift in art that had happened in the last 20 years.

Sviblova noted that the exhibition was adapting to different spaces every year. She emphasized that the arrival of the exhibition in Baku was a significant event. Fly to Baku has already visited London, Berlin and Moscow and achieved great success.

Elyar Alimirzoyev, one of the artists presenting his work "Lord's Supper and Witnesses", called Fly to Baku the locomotive of modern Azerbaijani art and an example for everyone. The exhibition has fewer traditional works and more conceptual art to show. The artist added that the Heydar Aliyev Fund had increased financial support for culture in the past years.
