OSCE Office in Baku reduced to the status of project coordinator

Yesterday the OSCE office in Baku officially downgraded its status to OSCE Project Coordinator in Baku. Henceforth, the OSCE Office in Azerbaijan will perform the following functions:

1) supporting cooperation between the OSCE and its institutions and the Azerbaijani government to implement the OSCE's principles and commitments, 2) planning and execution of projects between the OSCE and its institutions and the relevant bodies of Azerbaijan, 3) contacts with governmental and non-governmental bodies, local authorities, universities, research institutes and NGOs, and 4) other targets agreed between the OSCE and the Azerbaijani government that the OSCE institutions or the OSCE Chairman find appropriate .
