South Ossetian foreign minister vows sovereignty and cooperation with Russia
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaDavid Sanakoyev, Foreign Minister of South Ossetia and leader of the New Ossetia Party, said that independence from Georgia and partnership with Russia will remain a priority for the republic regardless of the results of elections in June, ITAR-TASS reports.
He noted that the elections will become another steps towards strengthening of statehood and development of state institutions. Courses of South Ossetia are supplemented by two referendums of 1992 and 2006.
The foreign minister emphasized that 2008 gave South Ossetia unique opportunities unavailable before: strengthening of economy, formation of a civil society, international relations and other aspects.
