Ariel Sharon dies, aged 85

Former Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon died today at the age of 85. He had been in a critical state since last week. The former head of the Israeli cabinet was undergoing treatment in the Tel a-Shomer hospital in Tel-Aviv.

Sharon served as the prime minister of Israel from 2001 to 2006. He had been in a coma since 2006.
