Criminal authority Melkadze killed

Ex-criminal authority Dato Potiysky, a native of Georgia born in 1964, was killed near a Leroy Merlin market on the 66th km of the Moscow Ring Road at 9.00 pm, ITAR-TASS reports.

Olga Vrady, the senior assistant of the head of the Main Investigative Directorate of the Russian Investigative Committee in the Moscow Region, said that all the necessary measures were taken to find the murderer.

According to the police, an assailant shot Dato Potiysky in the stomach from a pistol when the man was coming out of the market with wife and child. Potiysky died in hospital.

Dato Potiysky is believed to be part of the plot to kill criminal authority Avtandil Chikhladze, nicknamed Kvezho, leader of the Kutaisi clan, and his wife on April 12, 1994.
