Ransom demanded for head of Passport Office kidnapped in Abkhazia

The head of a village passport office of the Interior Ministry, 56-year-old Roland Gvaramiya, was kidnapped in the Galskiy region of Abkhazia in the village of Repi, as he was leaving the office on August 22nd, Georgia Online reports.


The head of the local police, Vadim Gvindjiya, said that the kidnappers had demanded Gvaramiya’s family pay $30,000 ransom.
