Construction of the multifunction cultural center ‘Reception House’ has started in Grozny, which will have as grand an auditorium as the La Scala Opera House, the press-service of the Chechen president reports.

The project is based on a sketch of 1817, a unique design by the great architect Alexander Vitberg. The project will be realized using traditional and modern construction technologies, the supervisor of the construction Apti Alaudinov said.

The ‘Reception House’ will have an exhibition hall, designed using new technologies of storing and exposition of art works. It will be equipped with modern security, allowing it to hold world exhibitions. The building will have a reception hall, banqueting hall and ballrooms. The Children’s Art School will also be accomodated in the building.

The school will have musical classes (for vocal, chorus, jazz, pianoforte, violin, cello, harmonica, accordion, and other instruments), art classes (for painting, graphic art, sculptures, architecture, ceramics, wood carving, metalwork and a photo studio) and literature-poetic, dance and theater classes, Alaudinov said.

The school will have from 30 to 60 rooms for 10-30 children in each. The total floorspace of the ‘Reception House’  will be 7,800-9,600 sq m. and the building area will cover 1,600 sq m., with a parking zone designed on the basis of a general plan of the area.
