South Caucasian countries are most vulnerable for computer viruses

According to research of AVG specialists working on making anti-virus software, Armenia is in third place of the least safe internet-using countries, www.telecom.arka.am reports.


The first place belongs to Turkey, followed by Russia, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Bangladesh.


An Armenian internet user has a 1 in 24 chance of falling victim to a virus attack. Turkey has a 1 in 10 chance, Russia – 1/15 and Azerbaijan – 1/39. The USA has a 1/48 chance, the UK – 1/63, Australia – 1/75, China – 1/135 and Brazil – 1/155.


Japan and four African countries are considered Internet-safe. The safest countries are Sierra-Leone with a 1/696 chance, followed by Niger – 1/442, Japan – 1/403, Togo – 1/359 and Namibia – 1/353.


The safest continents for virus attacks are South America – 1/164 and Africa – 1/108. The most vulnerable is North America – 1/51.
