Japan’s Taisei Coins Corp. buys Sochi Olympic gold

Taisei Coins Corp., a Japanese company of coin collectors, has ordered a purchase of Russian Olympic gold and silver coins, RIA Novosti reports.A collection of three gold coins will cost $2750 and three silver coins $420. One gold coin will cost $920. The Japanese company offers to sell the coins, weighing 1-3kg. It expects the coins depicting figure skating, skiing, ski jumping and curling to be the most popular ones. Gold coins with a nominal value of 1000 rubles weighing 154g have already been sold for $15,300 each.
