Moscow court arrests suspect in the burning of the Quran

Today Moscow'a Cheremushki court detained a 23-year-old resident of Tver Region, Alexander Sokolov, a suspect in the burning of the Quran and an attack on a man in the Moscow metro.

On the basis of a video posted on the Internet, showing the Quran being burned and bodily harm being caused to a person in the metro, a criminal case of hooliganism has been initiated (Article 213 of the Criminal Code ), RIA Novosti reports.

The suspect, a 23-year-old resident of Tver region, was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Moscow as having been previously convicted of theft and robbery.
