Russian parliament to discuss ‘against all’ ballot option

The Russian parliament will discuss restoration of the ‘against all’ option in ballot papers in the first reading today.

The Russian parliamentary committee for constitutional legislature and state construction recommended passing of the bill. A group of senators headed by Speaker of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko introduced the bill in October 2013.

Legislative assemblies of six Russian regions approved the idea to restore the ‘against all’ option. Not a single region has expressed objections to the bill.
