The political and military authorities of Israel have nothing to do with the events in Syria. Israel understands that those who fight Syrian President Bashar al-Assad today are an even bigger threat to Israel than the Syrian leader. Israel decided not to take a neutral stance and abstain from interfering in anyone’s interests in the conflict.
Israel has not made any attempts to hinder the Geneva-2 Conference. The US and Syrian opposition were the ones who insisted on keeping Iran out of the talks. Israeli intelligence said yesterday that chances for an agreement reached between Syrian opposition and the government were null and no changes in the situation will occur.
According to official data, 130,000 people died in the Syrian civil war, 55,000 went missing and 8,000,000 became refugees. Three military experts published a report based on 55,000 photos received from deserters of the Syrian army. Authors of the report say that they have enough materials to charge Bashar al-Assad with mass murders and other grave crimes.
