Syrian people to decide their fate – Foreign Ministry

The Syrian government and opposition will not discuss resignation of President Assad at Geneva talks, said Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal Miqdad, RIA Novosti reports.Assad will stay at power as long as the Syrian people want him, the official said. Any Syrian citizen had the right to stand for president, he reminded. Miqdad noted that elections were the only solution to the crisis.
