Russian ombudsman says no violation of children’s rights in Chechnya

Russian Ombudsman for Children Pavel Astakhov described the situation with children’s rights to the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child, Interfax-South reports.

He said that all children were motivated to study and develop, engage in sports, dancing, singing. 57 sports facilities were opened in the republic, he added.

Experts of the UN Committee asked the Russian ombudsman to tell about involvement of children in armed conflicts.
