The Turkish-Bulgarian border has closed due to problems with documents. A 2-km queue of trucks has formed, ITAR-TASS reports.

Bulgaria was to issue 250,000 permits to pass the border to Turkish drivers this year. Only 5,000 such permits were given. The problem became evident in late January. Turkey gave Bulgaria time to settle the problem until January 30. Bulgaria did not fulfil the demand, so Turkey closed the Kapikule Checkpoint. Bulgaria closed the Capitan Andreyevo Checkpoint in response.

Ankara demands additional transit permits. Turkey gave Bulgaria 10,000 permits in 2013. Bulgaria demanded more for 2014.
