Turkmenistan calls protection of Caspian Sea a priority

Turkmenistan is actively working on international mechanisms for the protection of the Caspian Sea, according to Rejepgeldi Meredov, head of the parliamentary environmental committee, Trend reports.

He pointed out that the rich natural resources of Turkmenistan were a natural treasure. The resources will help turn the agricultural state into an advanced industrial country.

Thus, said Meredov, ecology, protection of environment and the rational exploitation of resources were a priority for the parliament.
