South Ossetian President meets with police authorities

South Ossetian President Leonid Tibilov has discussed law enforcement with police authorities. He ordered the Ministry for Civil Defenses, Emergency Situations and Disasters to mobilize all forces.

Acting Defense Minister Valery Yakhnovets said after a visit to Moscow on January 28 that an agreement on pensions for the military and their families and a protocol on modernization of air defenses had been signed. An agreement on medical support was being developed, he added.

Acting Interior Minister Akhsar Lavoyev reported a drop in the crime rate.

Tibilov urged all services to take additional measures during the Sochi Olympic Games.
