Dagestan to adopt about 30 state languages
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaDagestani Leader Ramazan Abdulatipov said that a commission for problems of the Russian language and languages of Dagestani people will be formed in the near future. He discussed the Russian language policy, its status at the Dagestani Science Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Rossiyskaya Gazeta reports.
Director of the Institute Magomed Magomedov said that each language will be given state status. He reminded that there were about 30 languages and over 14 title nations in the republic.
Dagestan is the most multi-ethnic republic of Russia. It has a population of 2,964,822 people.
