Putin may meet Margvelashvili
Read on the website Vestnik KavkazaRussian President Vladimir Putin said he would not rule out the possibility of meeting with Georgian President George Margvelashvili if the latter expresses such a desire.
"If he wants to, why not?" Putin asked when questioned by a Georgian journalist, adding: "Moreover, I believe that this is a very good sign, and this is
exactly the case when the Olympic Games contribute to building relationships, even where it is seemingly impossible or very difficult," RIA Novosti quotes Putin.
The Russian leader also said that Russia is very happy about the arrival of the Georgian team at the Olympic Games. He recalls that flights from Tbilisi to Sochi have been resumed on a regular basis. "And we have decided to keep this practice after the Olympics," the President added.
"The Olympic Games are helping to build relations with Georgia, I am very happy, and we wish success to the Georgian athletes. They are always good at
the Summer Olympics, particularly in the martial arts," Putin said.
