Iranian Navy increases its presence in international waters

Iranian Navy commander Admiral Habibollah Sayar said that Iranian increases its presence in international waters.

"The reason for the presence of Iranian warships in international waters is Iran's desire to strengthen security in these areas ,"  ITAR-TASS quotes the commander.

29th Iranian fleet is already in the Atlantic Ocean and is moving towards maritime borders of the United States . According to the admiral , the main goal of this expedition is "to protect Iranian and foreign ships from pirates ".

Iranian media reported earlier that the 29th Iranian Navy fleet includes an auxiliary warship " Hark " , able to carry helicopters , and the destroyer " Sabalan ." Lately , according to Sayar , Iranian military vessels repulsed  a total of 150 pirate attacks.
